January 31- February 4

This is a busy week!

Big Band Dance is this Saturday night!  Make sure you get your tickets and bring your checkbook- we've got an outstanding silent auction lined up!  Students who want to profit on the raffle must return their tickets and money on Tuesday by the end of school.  All raffle tickets sold after that date will be directed to the ensemble account.  All Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band students will be required to work one shift Friday afternoon/ evening, Saturday morning or for cleanup after.  Seniors can sign up Monday after school, Juniors Tuesday, Sophomores Wednesday and Freshmen on Thursday.

Jazz Band will be performing in the CMEA Jazz Festival on Friday morning.  Students and parent drivers are to meet at PHS at 7:15.  Students may not drive themselves to this performance.  Thanks to Mrs. Linvill and Mrs. Higa who have volunteered to drive.  We are looking for 2-3 more drivers.  All the info is here.

This Thursday is our February Booster meeting at 7:30 in the Faculty Dining Room.  Come out and work with these parents as they strive to support the Music/ Drama programs at Pioneer.  Plus, you'll know what's going on without your student intercepting the message.  The final Big Band Dance meeting will follow this at about 8:05.

Rehearsals have begun for 42nd Street!  We are working hard and trying to get all of our music ready by opening night.  Students involved are reminded that they must be practicing their music so that we can have the most productive rehearsals possible.

This week, students participating in our tour will have the opportunity to sign up for rooms.  All rooms are to be 4 students, and students may share with students from other ensembles.  The final payment will be due next Friday, February 11.  This will give students a chance to review their final fundraising profits.  We are still looking for a few more parent chaperones.  Interested parents should contact me as soon as possible or send in their $250 deposit.  Complete tour details, as we know them, are on my blog.
