Christopher McCoy will continue in his third year as director of instrumental music at Pioneer High School this fall. Prior to this, Mr. McCoy was the director of bands at Lincoln High School in San Jose for six years. He holds a Music Education degree from Oklahoma Baptist University as well as his clear credential in music for the state of California.
At Pioneer, Mr. McCoy directs the Beginning Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Orchestra and musical theater pit orchestra. He has previously taught AP Music Theory and other music related courses.
Professionally, Mr. McCoy served on the board of the Santa Clara County Band Directors' Association (2005-09) and as Area VIII Rep to the CMEA Bay Section Board (2009-10).
At home, Mr. McCoy spends time with his wife and their children. Mr. and Mrs. McCoy are members of West Hills Community Church in Evergreen.
