December 6-10

Concert week!

Instrumental Winter Concert- Thursday, December 9, 7:00 PAC.  More info here

Monday and Tuesday we will rehearse as normal.  On Wednesday, we will move into the PAC and rehearse on the stage in all ensembles Wednesday and Thursday.  On Thursday, the call time for all students is 6:00.  We will take our ensemble photos for the yearbook before the concert, so it is important for all students to arrive dressed in their performing attire on time.  The PAC will be closed to audience members until the photos are all taken.  I hope to open the PAC to audience members by 6:40.

Again, I want to stress to students and families the importance of academic success in all classes.  Students must have a 2.0 GPA with not more than 2 F's to be eligible to perform.  I will check grades on Wednesday morning and ineligible students will be pulled from rehearsal at that time.  Ineligible students are required to attend the concert, dressed in their attire and will complete an alternate assignment to earn back credit.  There is no excused absence for any student for any reason.  A student who misses this concert is likely to earn an F for the semester.  Check the Instrumental Music Handbook for more info.

A special thanks to those parents who came out to our December booster meeting!  I want to stress again, we cannot be successful as a program without active parent involvement.  Our next meeting will be Thursday, January 6 at 7:30 in the Faculty Dining Room.  I've recently added new information, including past minutes so be sure to check out my Music/ Drama Booster page.

Students are now working toward their semester final.  Orchestra students are required to perform two octave F, C, G, D, A & E major scale and arpeggio.  Other students will perform selected scales and excerpts from their literature.

The Live Review form is due on Friday.  Some students have asked to attend performances this upcoming weekend, so I will accept work on time until Monday, December 13.  There have been many performances lately, and there are many this week and weekend.  I hope you have been able to take advantage of these.

See you at the concert on Thursday at 7!
